Get to Know Us!

I am a retired Structural Engineer. I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Architecture and then pursued and received a degree in Civil Engineering. After spending over ten years working on industrial and commercial structural engineering projects, I spent over twenty years running my own engineering business as a residential structural engineer.

When my husband and I retired on a ranch just outside of Starbuck, Washington, population 130, I decided to install an above ground pool. It gets triple digits in the summer months, and I love being in the water! I was so excited to jump in that pool and cool down as soon as I filled it! Well, I relaxed on my floaty and within 10 minutes I was viciously attacked by a multiple variety of biting bugs. It was awful and so disappointing.

Looking back on it now I can see how I used both of my degrees and my hobby sewing my own clothes as a teenager to create the solution. The FLEXNET DOME™! It’s amazing! I have used the FLEXNET DOME™ on my pool since the summer of 2019. Not only do I never get bug bites, I spend almost No time cleaning my pool. I run the pump and use the chemicals as recommended by the pool manufacturer and that’s it! I’m a semi-retired Civil Engineer, a former County Public Works Director, former State DOT Assistant Secretary, and part time Consultant. Having done my first computer programming in 1968, I still have fun doing computer work and web development.

I’m also a retired Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor, and an NRA certified Firearms Instructor. Yes, I know, doesn’t sound possible, but I’ve always had a wide variety of interests. Through those interests I’ve gained friends and contacts around the world.

I met Sandy through her husband, my good friend from our days at the University of Washington. When Sandy told me she couldn’t find a manufacturer for the nets at reasonable cost, I was able to put her together with a friend who was able to get that done. As a result, our customers can get an excellent product at a great price. So our friendship expanded into a business relationship, one that we hope will give you more time for fun in your pool.
